A historic moment unfolded at the Yanta Campus of Xi’an University of Architecture and Technology (XAUAT) as ground was officially broken for Phase 1 of the nation’s first university-based “Integrated Charging and Parking” Vertical Rotary Smart Garage. As the winning contractor, Shandong JIUROAD Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd. officially marks a new chapter in smart campus parking mobility with its independently developed 6th-generation vertical rotary technology.
The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by XAUAT Vice President Dong Qunyan, heads of the campus garage construction working group, faculty representatives, JIUROAD Chairman Chen Jinshui, JIUROAD Vice Chairman and Chief Engineer Zhuo Changfu, and project supervision representatives. The event was hosted by Li Jiang, Deputy Director of the university’s Security Department.

Parking issues, often seen as minor daily inconveniences, are in reality major concerns for the campus community. As a historic campus with a 70-year legacy, the Yanta Campus carries the memories and affections of generations of XAUAT alumni. However, with the rapid development of the university and the continuous growth of vehicle ownership among faculty and staff, the dual challenges of “parking and charging” have become increasingly prominent.
To solve this, JIUROAD is deploying its industry-first dual-function vertical rotary system. This demonstration station comprehensively adapts to the diverse parking needs of the campus while seamlessly integrating with the architectural style of the Yanta Campus South Courtyard’s “National Complete Community” pilot project, achieving perfect harmony between function and landscape.

During the ceremony, Wang Nengxiao, Director of the Security Department, reported on the project’s status on behalf of the working group and outlined comprehensive management requirements in three key areas:
- Coordination & Assurance: Properly managing construction noise and traffic, responding promptly to faculty concerns, and ensuring zero disruption to campus life.
- Supervision & Control: Working closely with auditing and supervision units to strictly control safety, quality, and progress, ensuring high technical standards and seamless landscape integration.
- Long-Term Governance: Building a smart traffic management platform, perfecting operational protocols and emergency plans, and accumulating experience for future construction phases.
